Worden's Lures - UV M2-SP Flatfish

by Bob Barthlow

I had a chance to fish a few of the new UV coated Worden's Lures/Yakima Bait Co. M2-SP Flatfish the last couple months durning Spring Chinook season.

Whats nice about the M2-SP Flatfish is the run true "right out of the box" and are a deep diver. We're using 40# PowerPro braid for main line, flatline trolling with 50'-60' of line on Shimano Tekota Linecounter reels and the the M2-SP's will run 18'-20'all by them selves...no weight needed.

For Spring Chinook we use a 6' shock leader of 25# Gamma fluoracarbon.

Where we foud the UV coated M2-SP's most deadly during low light conditions, early morning, cloudy over cast rainy days...and in dirty water. Even in off color water or low light, then sun's UV rays still penetrate the water and are picked up on the UV coating, making the colors much brighter and light up.

Don't forget to bait wrap your M2-SP's, a fresh sardine or herring belly wrap will get you more bites.

Besides Spring Chinook, I've had great luck on Fall Chinook, Steelhead and Coho with M2-SP's, so now when I'm fishing in less than ideal conditions, I know the UV coated M2-SP Flatfish will catch me more fish.
